MyRepublic to launch mobile phone services
It is said to be that MyRepublic will be launching their 4G+ service here in Singapore with network trial testing still being done in Jurong and Tuas areas in a short spectrum of space.
Expression of interests can be placed with the company directly but word is that existing customers and partners will have a go at things to test out and sort the teething kinks such as Mobile Number Portability and Roaming where our Malaysian friends signals are stronger than ours.
However, speeds are said to be in EXCESS of 300Mbps and some research shows that Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are unable to support these speeds due to different chipsets in use as they were meant for the US Market riding over the old Analog TV bands. We have yet to switch off our TV Signals yet so its the old PCN GSM1800 mhz frequency plus 2600Mhz and a mix of 802.11AC wifi signals giving you that extra umph for your device.
Price wise? I dare not comment but it's said to be UNLIMITED and the low band package of 20Gb for the low user like me.
What I think.... Kiss my phone goodbye traffic lights!

ONE GIGABIT IS UP
Finally...there is some sense of pride in MyRepublic.
The 1Gbps (*read 1000mega bits per second) is up and running and since the speed limit of GBE cards is that, there is nothing the traffic lights can do but suck it up.
This was a pic shot using a real end user...and using MYREPUBLIC internal speedtest server
The Speedtest.net gives a bad report...so safe to say..they are not ready..
Enjoy the light speed

Gigabit Connections.....
Now that MyRepublic has placed the other ISP on the chopping board, what can you do to get GIGABIT CONNECTION????
For many home users, the number up to 1000mbps is super great. But in actual fact, majority can't touch that wonderful speed due to equipment specifications.
Even at Gigabit port to your router, can that router that the load?? Or can your LAN Port get to that speed? How about the cables??
Here is something you SHOULD have to get to that speed
Gigabit to 10GBE LAN port ( only avail to commercial servers )
Cisco commercial router or Watchguard or so...
CAT 6 shielded
Separate AP or router for the WiFi... ASUS AC66 could do it....
but eventually, you be happy to smack over 500mbps
otherwise, for home users, be happy to touch even half that speed as your hard disk can't even take 300mbps just FYI unless you are on NAND DRIVE.
I tested that specs using a dedicated server, so it does work.....and almost blew my hard drives.
have fun
